Extensive labor outreach helped Nancy Navarro achieve a narrow victory over Ben Kramer's well-financed campaign in the recent Special Election to fill the 4th District seat on the Montgomery County Council. "This is a clear win for the residents of the 4th District of Montgomery County,” said Metropolitan Washington Council President Jos Williams. “It's an even bigger victory for organized labor - led by the county public sector unions - which played such a major role in Nancy's election and I know she appreciates our support.” Williams added that “the real winners are the people of Montgomery County who will continue to have a progressive County Council. We look forward  to working closely with Nancy and all the Montgomery County Council members to ensure that the residents of the county get the good government they want and deserve.” - reported by Rick Powell
