To apply for membership in IATSE Local 22:
- Submit a completed application, along with a check or money order in the amount of at least $200 made out to "IATSE Local 22", to the Secretary-Treasurer. Applications are available at the Local 22 Union Hall.
- At the next general membership meeting, the current member will vote on whether to accept the submitted application.
- If the application is accepted, the application is sent to the International offices in New York for review.
- If the International finds the applicant to be in good standing, they will return the application to Local 22.
- Upon receipt of the approved application from the International, the Secretary-Treasurer will contact the applicant at the email provided on their application to establish contact with a member of the Local 22 Board of Examiners.
- Successful completion of the examination will be communicated to the Secretary-Treasurer by the Board of Examiners member.
- The applicant will be added to the union email list, and will begin receiving monthly General Membership meeting notices. The applicant must attend a meeting in person and make their first quarterly per capita stamp payment (currently set $66 by the International) to be sworn into membership.
Please note the following:
- Applicants who are not accepted into membership by the body will be refunded their application fee.
- Applying for or gaining membership in Local 22 does not change the applicant's referral list status, nor does it increase the likelihood or relative pay rates of job dispatch (being a member doesn't mean you'll be offered more or higher-paying jobs).
- Membership in Local 22 does not change the qualifications or requirements for being eligible for retirement or healthcare coverage under our collective bargaining agreements.
- Membership in Local 22 does not guarantee acceptance in, nor the ability to transfer to, any other IATSE local.
- Membership per capita payments are due quarterly. Fees will be assessed for late payments.
