As you may be aware, contrary to the laws of the District of Columbia intended to protect workers, upper management at the Kennedy Center has decided to stop issuing pay statements to the workers who are currently being paid via direct deposit or the Netspend debit card system. The Kennedy Center has physical copies of our pay stubs in the payroll office; payroll claims that they are available to collect in-person at their offices during regular business hours. Local 22 believes this to be an insufficient response, and are encouraging all affected workers to fill out the attached DC DOES (District of Columbia Department of Employment Services) form to register a complaint with the city.
THIS IS ONLY FOR MISSING PAY STATEMENTS FROM THE KENNEDY CENTER, NO OTHER PAYROLL ISSUES
Most of the required information has been entered into the form; please fill out the following highlighted areas on the attached form with your personal information:
- Current Date
- Full Name
- Street Address
- City
- State
- ZIP Code
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Signature
- Date
Please note that the Office of Wage-Hour for Employees, the division of DOES that issues this form, does not require the scheduling or compensation details for wage statement issues (according to the representative I spoke with this morning).
Once the form has been filled out, a scanned copy with an original signature can submitted digitally via email, to owh.ask@dc.gov , or by mail to:
Office of Wage-Hour
4058 Minnesota Ave., NE
Washington, DC 20019
Additionally, physical copies of the form are available at the Hall, and we can send completed forms to the City on your behalf. As a reminder, the Hall is closed from Wednesday December 24, 2025 through Thursday January 1, 2026 for the winter holidays. The Hall will open again on Friday January 2.
More information can be found at the Office of Wage-Hour website, https://does.dc.gov/page/office-wage-hour-employees, or by phone at (202) 671-1880.
